Hojicha in Vienna

Hojicha is a Japanese green tea whose roasted tea leaves give it a particularly mild, nutty aroma. At CHOI CAFE in Vienna, we prepare Hojicha fresh – using high-quality Japanese Hojicha powder.

Hojicha at CHOI

Each serving of Hojicha is prepared individually and fresh to perfectly showcase its roasted aroma and natural mildness. This ensures that every drink has a balanced flavor and retains its characteristically smooth, rounded texture.

We deliberately work without pre-batches and prepare each portion à la minute. The hojicha powder is carefully measured and gently stirred into the liquid so that the delicate roasted aromas develop evenly without losing depth or balance.

Only 100% high-quality Hojicha from Japan is used – free from additives or flavor enhancers.

Hojicha vs. Matcha

Matcha

Matcha is made from finely ground, shaded tea leaves and is drunk in its entirety, which makes it particularly intense in taste.

Typical features include its bright green color, a creamy texture and a tart, fresh, slightly grassy character.

Due to its higher caffeine and L-theanine content, matcha has an invigorating and focusing effect.

Hojicha

Hojicha is a roasted Japanese green tea whose leaves or stems get their brown color and mild aroma from roasting.

Hojicha has a soft, nutty and slightly caramel-like taste, completely without bitterness.

Because it contains significantly less caffeine, Hojicha is considered particularly easy on the stomach and is also suitable for the evening.
